Why we need you
COPE are a charity, run by volunteers. We are looking for support with research into, as well as the writing and submission of grant funding applications.
Funding from grant applications helps to ensure that we can continue our work, supporting and advocating for older people in Cambridge.
What will you do
- Carry out online research to find out about funding opportunities that are suitable for COPE.
- Record this information and share it with the wider team.
- Work with the support of wider team to decision which grants should be applied to.
- Work with the support of the wider team to write funding applications.
What we are looking for
- Someone with a passion for representing older people in Cambridgeshire.
- Someone with good attended to detail and basic IT skills.
- Someone willing to learn and bring new ideas to the group.
Where would you volunteer?
This role could be done remotely or at our community centre, and we will talk to you about what would be best for you at the application stage.
What we can offer you
You will be supported by XXX in your role, and invited to socials with other COPE volunteers. We can also reimburse travel expenses.
This role can be on a short term basis however there is also the option for you to volunteer in the longer term, if that is something you are interested in.
COPE are members of Cambridge Council for Voluntary Service. This means that our volunteers can attend online training on topics such as 'how to write a good funding application' for free.

We are a registered charity run by volunteers, we organise social events, a newsletter and represent, signpost and campaign on issues affecting seniors in Cambridgeshire.
Membership of COPE is free, and open to anyone aged 50 or over in Cambridgeshire, inclusive of all ethnicities, faiths and political views.
Anyone living in Cambridgeshire is welcome to join COPE and add to our voice.
Registered individual membership today is just under 3,000. Our strength is in our numbers!
