Visitors love the outdoor spaces at our museum and we are looking for new gardeners to help with the upkeep of these spaces.Detailed description
Main role:
As part of a wider gardening team, help with the upkeep of the gardens, allotment and green spaces across the Farmland Museum site.
Hours:
Hours are by mutual arrangement during the season, and can include Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holiday Mondays. In winter months, volunteering takes place on a Wednesday.
Dress Code:
Practical and warm. A volunteer badge will be provided.

Duties:
- Help with the care of our Cottage Garden, including planting, pruning and weeding
- Get involved with the planting and care of a small allotment
- Look after borders around the site
- Keep on top of the weeds
- Take a general interest in the overall condition of all outdoor spaces to ensure they are tidy and welcoming to visitors
Personal qualities required:
• A limited amount of gardening knowledge would be helpful, but enthusiasm is more important!
• Happy to work independently, once feeling confident in the skills needed
Training:
• Observation and shadowing of gardening team
• All relevant Farmland Museum Health & Safety policies and procedures.
