Summary
We are looking for people with an interest in local history to deliver tours of Denny Abbey to small groups and / or school groups.Detailed description
Main role:
To deliver group tours, with a focus on Denny Abbey and the people who lived there. To help develop new tours of the Farmland Museum.
Hours:
As required to cover school and group bookings, these can take place any day of the week between March and November. Plenty of notice will be given and group visits are only booked once tour guide availability is confirmed.
Dress Code:
Practical, comfortable and warm. A volunteer lanyard and badge will be provided.

Duties:
• Guide and inform about The Farmland Museum and Denny Abbey
• Support the development and wider use of the tours with the aim of creating new tours.
• Deliver talks at external events (optional)
Training:
• Observation and shadowing of current tours
• Mentoring by an experienced member of the team
• Printed resources available
• All relevant Farmland Museum Health & Safety, Safeguarding and collections-related policies and procedures.
Personal qualities required:
• Good communication skills
• Has or would like to develop skills to deliver guided tours
• Attention to and strict adherence to Museum’s Safeguarding Policy and procedures
• Able to work within structure and timings of a pre-planned and agreed session
• Happy to work independently at times, once feeling confident in the skills needed
