Summary

If you own a vehicle and have some spare time each week then join our team of volunteer drivers! You can make a real difference to your community!

Detailed description

Volunteer drivers make such a big difference to those who are unable to drive or use public transport and find it difficult to get around.

With an ever increasing client base, we are always looking for new drivers to join the team.

Drivers use their own vehicle to transport clients to their essential medical appointments, social meetings or shopping. Drives can be booked to fit in with your own schedule, whether its a local drive once a week, occasional extended drives, or regular drives to a variety of locations, there is a way that you can help!

There is no minimum commitment and no obligation to accept a drive. Just one drive per week can be a huge help to someone living near you.

Drivers receive 45p per mile driven, full office support, additional (non compulsory) training courses and a wonderful sense of giving something back to the community!

So if you live in St Neots, Huntingdon, St Ives or Ramsey then please get in touch!

About Huntingdonshire Volunteer Centre

We are a registered charity based in Huntingdonshire and our mission is to ‘Support Huntingdonshire communities through Volunteering’
Volunteers are at the heart of everything that Huntingdonshire Volunteer Centre (HVC) does. We work to recruit volunteers – matching personal skills and interests to the right volunteer opportunities – and to promote the benefits that volunteering brings to individuals and to the many charities and organisations in Huntingdonshire. HVC could not manage without our own team of valuable volunteers who help run our services and it is our aim to match all volunteers who come to us with the right organisation and role for them.
We operate four Community Car Schemes from our offices in Huntingdon, St Ives, St Neots and Ramsey and we run a Community Shop in Huntingdon which raises vital funds to help maintain our services.
