Summary
Are you a money whizz who could help us develop Northstowe Arts into a financially sustainable organisation? We're looking to grow our Board of Directors.Detailed description
As a Community Interest Company (CIC) our Board currently comprises two Executive Directors and one non-Executive Director. This new voluntary role will have a focus on finance, helping to shape Northstowe Arts CIC’s development as a leading professional organisation offering connection through creativity in the new town of Northstowe and surrounding area.
About you
You are an expert in the financial aspects of running an arts organisation, ready to share your knowledge to make a real difference. You are excited about the possibilities and opportunities – for your work in this role, for Northstowe Arts as an organisation, and for Northstowe itself. You are committed to a belief that the arts and creativity can have a hugely positive impact on the wellbeing of both individuals and communities, and are passionate about supporting and enabling more people to experience it.
You are experienced, confident and proactive. You will feel comfortable taking on strategic financial oversight, financial governance, and advisory support, focusing on financial management and business development of an organisation that is a start-up, that is a Community Interest Company, that is working across artforms. You will be able to advise on strategic financial direction and planning to support sustainability and growth of Northstowe Arts, and review our financial processes to ensure we’re acting in the community’s best interests. You will be able to share your knowledge on financial best practices and support our team to grow.
You will also feel comfortable acting in a formal capacity as a Non-Executive Director of a Community Interest Company. That is, to act in accordance with the organisation’s Articles; to act in good faith; to exercise independent judgement, reasonable care, skill and diligence; and to avoid conflicts of interest.
Commitment
You will be able to attend quarterly Director meetings in person in Northstowe, and support via email the Executive Directors on finance-related matters between meetings.
