Summary

Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity is proud to be the Charity of the Year for Chariots of Fire 2025.

Detailed description

Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity is proud to be the Charity of the Year for Chariots of Fire 2025, an event that has raised over £1.5 million for local charities since it began in 1992. We’re seeking friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to help make this iconic event a success.

Volunteer roles include:

Course marshal: As a course marshal you are there to support, encourage and ensure all runners follow the correct race route safely. Be sure to bring a positive attitude and lots of energy!

Finish line: Your job is to welcome runners back and congratulate them as they cross the finish line. You will be handing out many post-race goodies such as medals, bottled water and snacks.

Meet and greet: You could be the friendly face welcoming runners and spectators into the event village and guiding them to collect their race packs or to the start line and answering questions along the way!

Race pack collection: You will be registering runners and assigning their race numbers using the RaceTec Tool Kit app. You will be fully trained on how to use the system when you sign in.

By volunteering at this event with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, you’ll help create a safe, well-organised, and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Your support ensures the event runs smoothly. All fundraising from this event will be used to expand our impact across Cambridge and the surrounding areas, ensuring that families in the local community receive the personalised, compassionate care they need.

Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity is not government funded and relies on public donations. 100% of all fundraising goes directly to supporting families.
