Summary

This role is to support Woodgreen with ensuring the smooth running of the department during the day, through effective customer service and administration.

Detailed description

What will I gain from it? 

  • Development of customer service skills and confidence to manage difficult conversations. You will receive full training to prepare you for the kinds of conversations that you will have. 
  • Being a vital part of promoting responsible pet ownership and good animal welfare.  
  • Development of your pet welfare knowledge. 
  • Supporting the work of Woodgreen and an insight into the daily running of a rehoming charity. 
  • The opportunity to work in a small, friendly and supportive team. 

What will I be doing? 

  • This is a desk-based role, working on the telephone and computer. 
  • Answering phone calls coming into Woodgreen, and triaging calls to the relevant person/department. 
  • Accurate inputting of all interactions into databases and spreadsheets. 
  • Assisting in the smooth running of the department. 

What is Woodgreen looking for? 

  • The ability to deliver a high level of customer service whilst understanding the need for discretion and confidentiality. 
  • An empathetic and non-judgmental approach to dealing with pet owners, with an enthusiasm to provide over-the-phone support to owners in need. 
  • Enjoyment of working in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Accuracy in record keeping and strong attention to detail. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with an excellent telephone manner. 
  • Confidence and experience using databases, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook – training on our CRM database will be provided. 
  • Over the age of 18. 
  • Happy to work as part of a small team. 

Location  

Based at our Godmanchester Centre within our Pet Support Team. 

We need help Thursdays and Fridays from 9am - 4pm so any hours you can help with would be gratefully received.

Flexibility and availability around these times can be discussed.
