About Northstowe Hub:

We are a small charity dedicated to fostering community spirit and providing essential services and activities for the residents of Northstowe. Our mission is to create a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive environment where everyone can thrive.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a local resident with experience in volunteer coordination to join our team. As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in managing and supporting our volunteers to deliver our projects, ensuring they have a positive and rewarding experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in your community while gaining valuable experience in the charity sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and support volunteers for various activities and events, including the Northstowe Hub Community Café and Midsummer / Winter Festivals.
  • Develop and implement volunteer policies and procedures, together with the other Trustees.
  • Coordinate volunteer schedules and ensure adequate coverage for all activities.
  • Organize occasional volunteer meetings and training sessions.
  • Provide ongoing support and recognition to volunteers.
  • Collaborate with other trustees and volunteers to plan and execute events.
  • Ensure all volunteer activities align with Northstowe Hub's mission and values.


Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in volunteer coordination, team management, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A collaborative team player with a commitment to Northstowe Hub's mission.
  • Previous experience in the charity sector is desirable but not essential.
