Summary
Talk to 3-4 classes of students for 15-20 minutes at a time. Tell them about your current job and career journey, then take questions.Detailed description
2.5-3.5 hours | 12-15 years old (Years 8, 9 & 10)
You can use slides, images or props if you like – or the presentation can simply be delivered as a talk. You are encouraged to give an honest insight into your sector, sharing what’s rewarding and enjoyable as well as what’s challenging.
Guidance is provided, but it’s up to you to craft your talk and choose where to focus (could be your job, your company or the wider sector).
It’s always best when you make the talk interactive by engaging students, with questions to get them thinking, and by welcoming questions from the class.
Careers Carousels are a great opportunity to share information about the different roles and routes into your sector, and to increase students’ awareness of the skills and qualifications needed if it’s something they’d like to explore.
