Summary

Interview a series students from Years 11, 12 or 13 across the course of a morning or afternoon. You will typically talk to around 10 students for 15-20 mins.

Detailed description

Half day 3 hours; or full day 5 hours | 15-18 years old (Years 11, 12 & 13).

Mock Interviews are a chance for the students to be exposed to an interview situation and learn what they feel like and get an idea of the type of questions that tend to be asked. You will coach them to draw on their own experience and skills (some of which they may well be unaware of, and you will need to help them draw out).

The interviews aren’t based around job descriptions but are more of a generic simulation. Any student can benefit, regardless of their individual career interests and aspirations. They are also great CPD opportunities for any ambassador who would benefit from the ‘practice’ of interviewing someone, before moving into management or interviewing real candidates for real roles.

Would suit you if you:

  • Like to work with people one-to-one
  • Have experience, or want to gain experience, interviewing (great CPD opportunity, particularly if you would like to move on to management of people)
  • Would enjoy coaching a young person: you will be assisting them to draw out examples they can use to illustrate their skills, experience and passions (‘soft skills’ are often developed outside of the classroom)
