Summary

Interact with 4-5 classes of students, 15-20 minutes each. Students guess your job by asking questions about education, skills, qualifications and workplace.

Detailed description

1.5 – 2 hours | 11-13 years old (Years 7 & 8)

As well as giving students clues, bringing along some props from your working life, does a good job of helping (or hindering!) their guesswork.

Once your job has been guessed (or they’ve got close) you tell them a little more about your career journey, share some information about where you work now and the potential routes into the sector.

What’s My Line? is an effective way of helping students to discover different careers and learn about the variety of jobs within a given sector.

Would suit you if you:

  • Are looking for an activity that does not require much preparation or time
  • Enjoy presenting, information delivery or being involved in Q&As
  • Want to gain more experience or have a gentle introduction to presenting and representing your sector/company
