Detailed description

We’re a small charity and volunteer group committed to caring for the Grade II Listed Tithe Barn, in Landbeach near Cambridge. You will have the chance to make a real difference to a friendly and supportive charity at a time of significant development of a new, special and perhaps more unusual community facility within a heritage-rich village just outside Cambridge.

If you love imagining and organising events, and would like to help support a unique historical building situated in a scenic area, we want to hear from you!

As the Event Lead, you will:

  • Work with our Chair to manage our Events Calendar, including responding to venue requests, assisting with site tours for interested community groups and individuals, and liasing with community partners.
  • Collaborate with the Board to plan public programmes and events, educational activities and community tours.
  • Oversee event preparation, including site layout and logistics, and help assign volunteers to fill necessary roles.
  • Assist at events – this might involve setting up information and signage, manning the car park, directing visitors, providing information, helping with refreshments, assisting with activities, and cash handling for sales of tickets and merchandise, and breaking down post event.
  • Be an active champion of the organisation.
  • Act in the Tithe Barn Trust’s best interests.

About Tithe Barn Trust

We are a group of local volunteers rescuing and bringing back to life an over 500-year old listed Grade 2 building – the Tithe Barn located in Landbeach – just to the north-east of Cambridge.
Over the recent years we have come far to make the hidden gem
shine – from campaigning to save the barn from sale into private hands to setting up a charity (CIO), undertaking historical research, fundraising to ensure specialist repair of the heritage building, installation of two eco-toilets and achieving a long lease to enable car parking and more on the adjacent pasture.
We already have a good track record in attracting external funding and our members, visitors, people locally and further afield as well as anonymous donors have made generous contributions.
We are building up a dedicated volunteer team, which sustains the barn
and its activities – they make the heart of the Trust beat!
