We’re a small charity and volunteer group committed to caring for the Grade II Listed Tithe Barn, in Landbeach near Cambridge. After completing urgent repairs and installing permanent toilet facilities, we are turning our attention to fundraising for further site improvements to increase the usefulness of the Barn and help us ensure access for future generations.
The Tithe Barn already hosts amazing public and private programmes year-round, from live music events, art exhibits, youth theatre and weddings. As Treasurer, you will be vital to helping the Trust increase our operational capacity as we look to the future.
You will help us:
- Maintain an overview of the Tithe Barn Trust’s financial affairs, ensuring its viability and ensuring that proper financial records and procedures are maintained to meet the conditions of contractual agreements with external agencies such as funders and statutory bodies.
- Work collaboratively as a Board to develop and advise on the fundraising and income-generating strategy of the Tithe Barn Trust.
- Oversee and present budgets, accounts and financial statements at monthly committee meetings and our annual general meeting.
- Champion the organisation, and help to maintain our vision and values.
About Tithe Barn Trust
We are a group of local volunteers rescuing and bringing back to life an over 500-year old listed Grade 2 building – the Tithe Barn located in Landbeach – just to the north-east of Cambridge.
Over the recent years we have come far to make the hidden gem
shine – from campaigning to save the barn from sale into private hands to setting up a charity (CIO), undertaking historical research, fundraising to ensure specialist repair of the heritage building, installation of two eco-toilets and achieving a long lease to enable car parking and more on the adjacent pasture.
We already have a good track record in attracting external funding and our members, visitors, people locally and further afield as well as anonymous donors have made generous contributions.
We are building up a dedicated volunteer team, which sustains the barn
and its activities – they make the heart of the Trust beat!
